LOVE at last! - ZELLIE

Zellie, a one-year-old blind dachshund, came to Much Love after her owners refused to pay for the surgery needed to remove a swallowed peach pit. When she arrived, she was so scared of the world she couldn't see. But after some time with trainer Phil Butcher at My Master's Voice and being in a loving foster home, Zellie came out of her shell, showing us all what a loveable girl this doxie could be. So when Steve from Emeryville, CA contacted Much Love, we were hoping that this would be her chance for a forever home. He said from the moment he saw Zellie's picture on Much Love's web site, he was smitten. We arranged for one of our volunteers located in the San Francisco area to perform the home check, which Steve passed with flying colors. He then flew down to Los Angeles to meet with Phil, who filled Steve in on the responsibilities and challenges that would come with owning a blind dog. More than up for the task, Steve headed back home with his new companion. Over the last month, the two have been taking lots of long walks, going on playdates with dachshund friends and gallivanting through the campus of UC Berkley, where Steve is employed. Looks like these two are proof that you really can find true love on the Internet.

Patience and hard work do pay off - an update on MUNCHKIN!

Awhile back Much Love had a crazy crew boarding and training at Cesar Millan's facility...you might remember them - Munchkin, Spike, Spot, Sumatra, etc. Happily, they have all found loving homes and we received an email today from Munchkin's mom, Lupie! Munchkin would have won "Most Spirited" in high school for her bounding energy and love of life. We are so happy to hear all of Lupie's hard work and follow through on what Cesar taught her has paid off and Munchkin is part of the pack!

Note from Lupie:
"I adopted Muchkins from Much Love. At first I thought it would never work because of her high energy. With patience, lots of work and LOTS of treats, Munchkins became a member of my pack. She has brought so much joy into my life with her antics and playfulness. Thank you Cesar for fostering her and thank you Much Love for rescueing her. Love, Lupie Sandoval and her pack."

NORA - Finally Home!

If you are a regular at our mobile adoptions, you know NORA! She was with us for awhile and unfortunately was returned from a few homes because it wasn't quite the right fit. Well, now we know she was just waiting for Kit & Ann to meet her and fall in love! We knew if she could just find a home that was mellow and she could follow around her people all day - she would be in heaven. Kit & Ann have given her that home and she is happy as can be! Please read the wonderful update we received today. We are all SO very happy for Nora and thank Kit & Ann for giving her the life she deserves!

Note from Kit & Ann:
She immediately replaced our last dog's place, in our hearts and in our van. Only one problem, once she's in the truck, she doesn't want to get back out; unless we're at the beach.

She is in my truck almost every time it leaves the house. The first time that the truck left the house without her, she immediately pee'd on the rug. We had a little "talk" and we discovered that Nora learns real fast.

This week she will be introduced to her veterinarian and we'll make certain that she gets all that she needs.

Much thanks to MuchLove for your great work.

Kit & Ann
