Brentwood's Barrington Dog Park was full of
shrieks and howls not just from the spooky figures hanging from the
trees that scared the crowd, but from the laughter at the amazing
costumed canine contestants in the the 4th Annual Bow Wow Ween costume
contest. The 2005 event was presented by Dogwell Dog Treats to benefit
Much Love and the Friends of Barrington Dog Park in association with
Los Angeles Dept. of Parks and Recreation.
Attendance was nearly doubled to approximately
3,000 visitors who reveled in the costume contest and enjoyed over 35
vendors, checked out the adoptable dogs from local animal rescue
groups, dog agility demonstrations and yummy treats and food. There was
a kid's carnival section where the Big Dog Bounce House bounced off
some of the youngster's sugar-filled enthusiasm, face painting and a
game kiosk with the new Scooby-Doo! Unmasked video game.
Celebrity judges included Tori Spelling
(VH1’s Notorious), Constance Zimmer (HBO’s Entourage), Busy
Philipps (Love, Inc.), Kaley Cuoco (Charmed), Charlie O'Connell
(The Bachelor), Emmanuelle Vaugier (Saw 2), plus Los Angeles
Magazine’s Senior Editor Margot Dougherty and Publisher of
Hollywood Dog, Greg Oehler and Dogswell founder Marco Giannini. The
contest was emceed by Matt Gallant (Animal Planet) and Bryan Callen
(Fat Actress),
Generous sponsors in addition to Dogswell included:

Hollywood Dog Magazine and LA Dogworks.

Funds raised for the day's event go to Much Love
Animal Rescue and the animals currently in our care and the ones we
will save from death row in the future. They will also go to Friends of
Barrington Dog Park and their continued efforts to beautify and expand
the dog park, making it one of Los Angeles' best dog parks.
